Ben Holladay Bottled In Bond 6 Year Old Straight Bourbon

Holladay Distillery in Weston, Missouri is the oldest distillery west of the Mississippi, founded in 1856 by Ben Holladay — the "Stagecoach King" who built the Overland Express lines later sold to Wells Fargo and briefly owned the Pony Express. He and his brother David chose the site for its limestone spring, first charted by Lewis and Clark in 1804, and this flagship bourbon is made grain-to-glass at that same site using the mash bill Ben Holladay developed in 1856.

This six-year bottled-in-bond expression is classified as a "Real Missouri Bourbon" under a 2019 state law requiring the whiskey to be mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in Missouri, using in-state oak barrels and Missouri-grown corn — one of the strictest regional designations in American whiskey. As a Bottled-in-Bond release, it also carries the added guarantee of single-distillery, single-season production at exactly 100 proof, a mark of authenticity going back to the original 1897 federal law.
